vagcom idle and torque load adjust problem
hi - does anyone know how to adjust the amount of torque available at idle with vagcom? my engine produces a fair bit of vibration at idle and if i increase the throttle by say 50 rpm it all goes away. i can increase the engine idle with vagcom however it doesn't solve the issue as i need to introduce a little bit of load to the engine - i've tried using the lemmiwinks program but i can't get it to work as my cable is usb (probably likewise for v-tune).
any ideas on what i can do?
many thanks

How do you expect to put load on the engine with software?

all i need to do is increase the torque offset available at idle as effectively this is what the engine is doing when you load it

Huh? At idle the engine makes however much torque
is needed to maintain the commanded idle speed. How much torque that is depends on phyiscal load (both external and internal parasitic losses). If you somehow fool it into making more torque without increasing the physical load, it will speed up, overshoot the commanded idle speed, back off on the torque, etc. I would expect the result to be a fluctuating idle speed.

ok but i want to give it a go as it's the only thing suggested that will fix the rough idle - lemmiwinks ch14 will tweak what i need to tweak but i don't know if it's possible with vag

Incresing the idle speed and/or teaking ch14 will only HIDE the problem! To fix this...
...you should check the oxygen sensors, they often cause a rough idle - you may want to give us the current lambda adaptation values...

good point but i know the cause... it's a faulty injector which
is ????? to fix - but it's getting a right pain to hold my foot on the throttle when i stop and the passengers also complain about the vibration lol

i know your point but....
could do with not spending the money at teh moment - just cost me ?400 to have the central locking sorted as a couple of 'black boxes' were starting to play up
are they that easy to get out - i was under the impression it'd be a tougher job than that
