Default VCDS ESP fault and question when accessing ABS module

My ESP light comes on only after raining or very high humidity days with a steering angle sensor in ABS and Steering modules (faults at bottom). When the fault isn't present if I access the ABS module through the Vag-com the information cluster shows ESP fault on the display right away but it doesn't do this if I access Steering. Can anyone confirm if the Vag-com triggers this all the time when accessing the ABS module? Or any insight to the issue of the fault in rain/humidity. (2011 A4)

Thanks
