I recently learn that VCDS can activate afew cool features and also great for DIY servicing and service light reset and diagnose problems.
My brother has a copied version (ebay), works with his 08 Q7. But he used that cable on my q7 (2013 TDI) I can scan and see all modules.

But when I try to do this as instructions:

To Enable Rear Tail Light on with DRLs:
[09 - Cent. Elect.] [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 2
Bit 7 - DRL's via Tail let Active (1=Active)

I don't see Long Coding Helper when I am in that menu. All I got is Coding: 0023121
and a help menu pop up with: 0?xxxxx <= where each code provide certain activation or changing module.


Upon my search through here and other vw or diesselturbo forums, people who used ross tech can't confirm me if the Original Cable will give me that Long Coding Helper (where I can find it a lot easier to do). I am willing to buy original ross tech cable

Can someone help me if they have seen any q7 has no long coding helper?

Long coding helper is a part of VCDS.
It's application varies depending on the vehicle and the modules installed.

If the instructions you quoted were specific to that chassis Q7 then yes, it will be available.
There are many how to's on the internet that are specific only to certain vehicles.
