I have a 2007 Q7 and I just had a new amplifier replaced (damaged due to water)_and programmed by the dealer. All was good except I lost my voice command functions. VCDS says that the SDS unit is OK and I have changed the byte for the voice command (SDS) module to have a 7 instead of a 0 for English to activate it. When I push the button on the steering wheel it says "button inactive", "cant find device". I have reset it multiple times and it still will not activate. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can try next?

I found out that if I set the byte to disable the voice command (0 instead of 7) it fixed the problem and I now have the voice command function again. Go figure!
