Why does VCDS 805.0 keep prompting me to install it each time I reboot?

Why does VCDS 805.0 keep prompting me to install it each time I reboot?
VCDS prompts even though it has successfully installed, including its Ross Tech USB driver.
Windows also prompts the "Found New Hardware" dialog, requesting to install drivers for the new hardware (the Key-USB dongle), even though the VCDS software and driver have been successfully installed.
Key-USB on Windows XP Home Edition.
