For the Q3 I don't see them being very useful to get in or out of the car unless you're very short. They may block some of the road crap flung up by the front tires but other than that I don't see them being of much use.

Audphile, when buying the running boards, you should actually consider the reason what are you getting them for. They add your vehicle stylish look, they are efficient and even urgent if you have a kid or any other member of the family who is not quite tall enough to easily get in the truck by themselves. They do not allow excess dirt and debris into the interior of your precious vehicle.
