16 in Wheels for Snows on C6
For you snow tires geeks who want best winter performance on your C6 there were optional 16 in. wheels available. More common in Canada than US I found a set in Ottawa for $182 tax inc. I've found living in the snowbelt in Central NY that 10-20mm narrower tread is optimal for our winters. I've been averaging 35-40K mi. annually since 1970 and it works for me. The tires are 225/55x16 Nokian Hakkapelitta R2's which replace 245/45x17 Nokian Zline summers. (a great summer tire but prob only 25-30K life UTOQ 300) The narrower tire is much better in really slick conditions especially slush. I think these wheels were available on A4's and perhaps some Passat's, at least they look like some VW wheels I've seen. BTW these narrower Hakka 2's are better handling in dry/wet conditions than most stock size Blizzaks, iPike's & Altimax plus they wear longer & stop shorter. Also they're available at new tire shop 1 1/2 mile away as cheap as anywhere in the country. (A&R Repair in Morrisville, NY)

We've got 16" RIAL Como wheels for our C6 wagon. Just fitted a fresh set of Nokians to the wheels. Haven't driven on them yet, but the previous Conti ExtremeContacts were an outstanding set up for that car.
I don't recognize the wheel you found. There are few 16" wheels that will fit the C6.

If you search car-part.com for 2006 AUDI A6 you'll see quite a few options with 16 in being one. Standard Auto Wreckers a Canadian US Pick n Pull chain in Ont/Niagara Falls area has a bunch listed for $50 ea. The Ottawa yard is closest to me so I went to my in-laws in the 1000 Islands and then took a day trip to Ottawa JY & National Canadian Aviation Museum the next day. I called ahead to verify the Vin of the car they came from to be sure they'd fit. When I said I wanted four he dropped the price to $40 each. A great deal as the 16 in Hakka's are $40 less than the 17's. BTW Just as a trial fitment I put on one of my 16 in AVUS wheels from my '95 S6 Avant & they seemed to clear the calipers & suspension as well. I decided the newere style wheels were so cheap & more in keeping with style of the car that I wouldn't waste my AVUS's on it.
