Default Allroad wheel spacers

I have a 2013 B8 Allroad.
I also have 4ea 17" x 7.5" wheels mounted with winter tires that I used on my A4 sedan.
I want to use the same set-up on my Allroad, BUT the offset on these wheels is 45mm and the offset on my OEM 18's is 26 mm.
If I install 15-19mm wheel spacers with the 17" wheels that should, on-paper, correct the offset issue, BUT does the use of spacers have any other negative affects such as 'bearing' wear, steering response, etc.?
I have never used spacers before, but it seems a good way to allow the use of these wheels.
Or am I better off purchasing new wheels with a offset closer to the OEM?

Yes, It is a 2012 A4 Prestige with sport package. the 17" wheels were for winter use on this vehicle.

good - that means the hubs sizes are the same. B7 and earlier Audis have smaller hubs

Just went through this on my Allroad. Buy 20 mm spacers to fit a 66.5 mm hole in the wheel. This will put the wheel centerline where it should be. Don't forget 20 mm longer ball seat bolts.

In my case I bought Avus wheels from an '05 S4. I ordered 20 mm spacers fit 57.1 mm wheels and had the inside bored to 66.5 mm.
