Default Audi S8 wheel/tire diameter change

Hi,

This is similar to other threads about the S4 21" wheels not being ideal for tire selection, but I found a 255/40/21 winter tire that just came out (Pirelli Scorpion Winter). The only issue is that increases the overall diameter by 2.5%. Is this an issue for all of the mechanical/safety mechanisms on the car? I have read that 2-3% is acceptable for most cars but wasn't sure about this one with all of its advanced features.

There are some 275/35/21 winter tires coming out that would fit much better but won't be produced for another 3-6 months.

And of course, another option would be to get 20" rims but a lot of suppliers are saying that their rims may not clear the calipers.

Thanks!

What year is the S8?

20" rims will clear the calipers on new S8 with 400 mm rotors. 19" probably not.

It is a 2014. I have read a few threads where people have said that 20's will fit but a lot of the retailers on eBay say that they won't.

We do have some 20" and even a few 19" wheels that will clear the brakes on this car.

You can view them in the "winter" section of our site here :

OE 20's will clear calipers. Aftermarkets too diameter wise but not necessarily side wise.
