Default Help with Choice of Wheels on A6

Hey guys, I just purchased my A6 last month and am looking to use my factory wheels as winter wheels as they are pretty plain, I would like to get some nicer OEM wheels, but just don't know which ones would look good on it?
I do like the S5 wheels but again not sure if they will go good with the car, and what size of rim will fit nicely on these as I don't plan on lowering it just stock height. thanks.

see picture with the current ugly rims on it lol.

Spend some time in the A6 forum and look what others have posted pictures of. Hartmann makes very strong Audi replica wheels. Tire Rack also has a way of showing pictures of your car with different wheels on it.

thanks for the tip, but what sizes would look good on an a6 without lowering it at all? seems like 17" is small and leave big gaps in the wheel wells.

Wheel well gap depends on the tire outside diameter not on the rim size. You can go with a bit larger overall diameter and a bit smaller offset but only lowering would make the gap really smaller.

In my opinion this are the best looking Audi wheels:

It is important what will look good to you. So Google Audi A6 wheels and check hundreds of pictures.

If you are looking for OE wheels you can go with other Audi models too. Most of them are interchangeable. I would not recommend larger than 18" because your sidewall will become to shallow and ruin your ride. So ones from the picture are 18x8 5x112 bolt pattern, 57.1 mm center bore 33 mm offset. They would be nice with 245/40x18 tires.

Agree with mishar - though I would look at 19s as that is what I run on my RS4 and I am happy with them

Well, I am happy with my 20's but I was happier with my 18's.

What kind of ride quality change did you find going from 18-20? I like the ride of the 15spoke 19" but don't want a harsher ride by going to a 20" (to fit the s6 brake upgrade I want)

It is hard to measure that difference. Good thing is that both tires where DW's. 20's are definitely harsher. You can hear and feel more of road imperfections. Part of that comes from bigger, heavier, brakes too. Much softer than both are 19" winter Michelin's.

That is the answer

It is all what is ones own preferences. Nothing is free - better response means feeling what the road has to offer.
