Default how difficult is it to maintain polished lips on wheels?

hello and good day. im stuck on a decision between a chrome lip wheel and a polished lip wheel. my last set of wheels were chrome and i washed my car about 3-4 times a week and waxed the lips maybe 3 times a week as well.

ive been told that polished lip wheels tend to get blurry from water marks and other elements. is it much harder to keep polished lips clean or because of my cleaning habits already will i be fine? what should i use to keep the polish lip clean if i choose that route and how much attention and time should i put into it

thanks

Default If they're clear coated, then maintenance is no different from a painted wheel.

However if they're polished with no clear coat, you need to repolish them pretty regularly.

Default there is no clearcoat....

with that being said, what polishes work really well? and regularly as in 2-3 times a week?

Default I like Mother's Aluminum mag polish.

The regularity of the polish is inversely proportional to your tolerance for putting up with a dull lip.

Once a month is enough to keep a decent shine on them. Depends however on factors like brake dust, and what abrasives you might use on the wheels when washing/drying them.

Default So what is the finish. Its not bare aluminum.....

it must be either anodized or painted in some way. Aluminum oxidizes ( or burns!) immediately
