Default Wheel Load Rating vs GVWR

Can anyone explain what wheel load ratings have to be vs a cars GVWR. I was looking at some OZ wheels for the Q7 and they have wheel load ratings of 2047 and I am being told that they won't work on the Q7 which has a GVWR of 6467. Any thoughts?

We use the Gross Axle Weight Ratings (GAWR) to see if a wheel is safe to use. Using a 2015 Q7 as a reference, the front axle is rated for 3241 lbs and the rear axle for 3946 lbs. It's important to note that neither axle has that amount of weight on them all the time (or even once in a while), but that is the maximum that each axle can handle. As a result, each wheel must have the capacity to carry that max load (regardless of the chances it will ever have to). Your example @ 2047 lbs of capacity are safe to use. Four wheels each with 2047 lbs of capacity have 8188 lbs of capacity as a set, so they cover the GVWR as well, but we use GAWR to cover all the bases.

Assuming the wheel has the correct offset etc, then load is fine.
