New rubber for A6 4.2?
Hi all,
My 2000 A6 4.2 needs new rubber. The guy who owned it before me had put some cheap brand tires on it. It's running on factory 17" broad 5 spoke wheels.
Any suggestions as to what I should put on it?
I want something decent but not bank breaking.
Thanks in advance,
GM

Almost an infinite no. of tires available...
in factory spec--255/40 17. I own the same car...(and don't use factory spec).
Do you want all season or just summers? At what price point? Maybe $150-200 as a sweet spot, <$150, or $200-250?

Re: Almost an infinite no. of tires available...
Thanks for the reply.
I didn't want to change the size so I went for the standard 255/40/17.
I got the Continental Contact2's.
So far they're lightyears ahead of what was on it before but I think they're going to take some scrubbing in.
I see you've got a W12. Very nice indeed. It's on my list alongside an S8 for next year.
Thanks again.
