Default offset question

I was wondering if a 38 offset would fit on a A8 with a 32 offset? I don't know much or understand how the offset works and I like a set of winter rims but just not sure if the the 38 offset will work. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks

Here is a better explanation that I can type out.

Wheel Offset vs. Wheel Backspacing Explained

That should work but also depends on the width of the wheel. Also what year is your A8?

I found this site to be quite helpful! WillTheyFit.com
In addition to fit, they include speedometer correction detail with the wheel/tire dimension results.

If you want to talk to someone, the fine people a TireRack.com are quite knowledgeable and can give you details regarding your stock figures and those of any wheel they sell.

Good luck!

The real question is the hub bore diameter. Yours being a D4 is 66.6 mm while most all other Audis are 57.1mm . I don't know if any A6 switched to 66.6mm hub bore in the later years. You need to ask what the actual hub bore diameter is. It needs to be 66.6 or it will not even bolt up to your A8.

The C7 A6/S6 (the "current" model) has the 66mm hubs like the D4, but not the C6 or preceding generations. In general, the A6 line also has conservative offsets compared to the D4 so wheels will likely appear to be be pretty far inset into fender. Get exact offset and widths for wheels involved and put it into the offset calculator linked in another reply to visualize. In general, for the C7 related bodies, the A7/S7 with their offsets will be a better donor for a D4 fitment than the C7 A6/S6.

We have a few wheels recommended for the 2015 A8 with ET35, but as mentioned above you'll want to check hub bore or jut do a quick test fit.
