Rim size Q: 245/45-17 or 245/40-18
The vehicle is a 2009 Audi TT 3.2 Quattro Coupé that originated in the US and now is with me in Canada, eh?
It has run-flat snows on it currently that are: 245 45R 18 [100V] from Dunlop.
I'm looking for new summer wheels and tires, and there seems to be a discrepancy in the sizing (the two sizes in the title of this thread are what come up in website search fields).
Just to mess with the mix, I want rims made in North America, and tires not made in Asia...yikes, am I asking too much? Oh, and run-flats too!
Would the two rim sizes 245/45-17 or 245/40-18 also fit my TT?

Yes, the correct sizing to use on the 2009 Audi TT 3.2 Quattro Coupe in 17" is 245/45R17 and in 18" is 245/40R18. 245/45R18 is about one inch taller than the stock size.
I know of no wheel foundries left in North America.
