Tire height question

Tire height question
I've always heard you should match your stock tire size, specifically height. The reasoning is suspension geometry as well as ABS, Cruise Control sensors, etc.
So how critical is this really?
I'm looking at a wider tire to fit some wider rims I just bought. The overall height of the stock tires is 26", 799 rev/mile. The tire I'm considering is 25.7", 808 rev/mile. If you do the math this is just over 1% difference...only 11 miles more on the odometer per 1000 miles.
That doesn't seem like much of a difference. Is there any reason to be concerned, or is the slightly lower tire close enough that it doesn't matter??

We start to get concerned when you are closer to 5% over / under OE diameter, so you are most likely OK with just over 1%. You can reply back with your sizes and vehicle info if you want a double check

My car is a 2010 S5 Cab. The stock size is 255/35 19. I bought from Tire Rack a set of ASA G8's 19"x10". They look great, but the rim is exposed (no rubber beyond the rim) with the 255's. 295/30 19 is an exact height match, but there are limited tires available. I prefer my Continental DWS all seasons but they only come in 285/30 19. They are 25.7" tall vs 26" stock

We are only able to guarantee 275/35R19 as the widest tire for your application. The Conti DWS06 is available in that size with a section width of 10.5" and a tread width of 9.6" for reference. The 285/30R19 has a section width of 11.4" and a tread width of 9.9" in comparison. We have used other (snow tire) sizes that average 25.7" in diameter with no concern, so it's just the width that could be problematic.
