Default Wheel & Tires Questions

I have a 2005 S4 Cabriolet. I wanted to get Nokian WR 235/40/18's but I was told by a local dealer that the tires are now not due until mid-2005, and it's now time for winter tires here in Chicago.

If I still want the Nokian WR's, it appears my best option is the 235/45/17 size. And to match wheels with this, I want to get wheels that best match the looks of the OEM wheels. I think Avus makes this 6-spoke wheel, and I think they come in 17" sizes. Does anyone know about the wheel options that match the OEM's?

What size wheel should I get with 235/45/17 tires?

Finally, can someone tell where I can get the best pricing on the Nokian tires and Avus (or alternative) wheels?

Thanks in advance

Default Tire Rack

Hi and Happy Thanksgiving...

I too was looking for the Nokians in the 235/40-18 fitment for the 18" S-Line wheels for my '04 A6 - they are not being imported into the U.S. - you can see them on the Nokian Tyres website - but if you call the U.S. office - they confirm your dealer's story.

I went with 235/45-17 Blizzak LM-22's on Mille Miglia 17x8's. They look great as a winter combo with five easy flared spokes for cleaning. this is my 11th set of tires/wheels from the Tirerack and I have never been disappointed - they even delivered this set overnight when an unexpected snow storm blew into Massachusetts and I was heading for Philadelphia the next day.

In fact, I am now selling the OEM 18" Conti-Extreme tire & wheel package which is in pristine condition...

Best,
eric

Default fwiw, our local dealer had 235/40/18s already (and has since sold out)

I think your dealer doesn't know what they're talking about?

225/40/18 will work even better in the snow.

Default Where are you located?

I am in Chicagoland area, and have yet to find a dealer who said they ever had them in stock. But it's good news to hear they are probably available sooner than June.

Thx.
