Hamiltons Porsche/Audi in Melbourne commissioned some specials in 1996 in conjunction with The Mag Wheel Centre Richmond.
The first generation were called "Club Sport" and were launched early 1997 and were all V6 Quattro 5 speed manuals with Audi Sport suspension and 17"x8" BBS RX201 alloy wheels. They were well optioned, with leather interior, woodgrain, climate control, electric sunroof, power windows etc.
The boot was debadged except for a blacked out version of the four rings, and a "Hamiltons Club Sport" badge added to the bottom right corner of the boot lid. A similar badge was also added to the far left of the woodgrain strip across the dash, just above the glovebox.
To this day, mine is the only "Club Sport" I have ever seen. Exactly how many of these were commissioned is uncertain, as Hamilton's stopped selling Audi, and the dealership was subsequently bought by Porsche as their Melbourne main dealership. I have requested information several times, but have not had a response. Similarly, The Mag Wheel Centre changed hands and the previous owner is the only person with any knowledge & I believe he is in prison!
Another lot of specials were again commissioned in 1998. These were call "Hamilton's Club Sprint" and were all 1.8TQ's with a spoiler kit and ECU mod added to the previous feature list of the Club Sports...
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
What can you do with a 12v V6?!
Suspension Modifications:
Bilstein front shocks have replaced the original Sachs units fitted from new.
Wheels/Tires Modifications:
BBS rims refurbished in 2008, including full strip and repaint
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
Clarion MP3 Head unit and 12 CD stacker have replaced the original Eurovox unit and 10 stacker.
Narva Driving lights have been custom installed into the lower front grille side vents and wired via the high beam to the rear foglight switch (rear fog lights have been disconnected - this is Australia!). Much better night driving on our unlit country roads!
Future Modifications:
Some sort of power enhancement. Considering mods which can be reversed.
Possibly a 2.8 30v V6 install with a PES G2 supercharger.
a bigger job with potentially more power is the 4.2 V8 conversion. Requires finding an engine!! Then spending lots... Read more ยป
