On most cars, replacing any of the exterior light bulbs is a fairly uncomplicated process. This is mostly true for the Audi B7 A4, minus the parking light bulbs. Most folks will say that you need to remove the entire front bumper to replace the bulbs, but this isn't necessary. If you have a little patience and a spare 30 minutes, you can swap out those burned out parking light bulbs without using too much colorful language. Here's how to get it done.

Materials Needed

  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • T-30 hex screwdriver

Step 1 – Replace the passenger side bulb

Unscrew the clamp holding the air inlet tube and detach it from the air filter box. Pull off the top of the air filter box and remove the five Phillips screws underneath. Push the two tabs on the back of the headlight housing down and away from you, then carefully pull the cover back and up to remove it. Pull the socket cables out, then remove and replace the bulb. Place the socket back in place and reinstall the cover and air filter assembly.

Step 2 – Replace the driver side bulb

Remove the two outside T-30 screws from the top of the driver side headlight, then pull the light out as far as it will go without disconnecting it. From here, you can access the two push tabs on the back of the headlight housing. Push the tabs down and away from you to release them, then pull up and out on the cover to remove it (same process as the passenger side). Pull the light socket out and replace the bulb, then push it back into place. Replace the cover and slide the headlight back into position, then reinstall the two screws.
