4. Two Chrome-painted Audi R8 V10s

In 2009, the first two US-spec Audi R8 V10s were sold at an auction benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County (Boca Raton, Florida). The first stateside-bound ten-cylinder R8 went for $500,000. Audi officials were so pleased with the bids placed on the car, they decided to put R8 number-two on the block — it raked in $350,000.

5. Audi R8 Spyder Twins

Back in 2011, a custom-chrome Audi R8 Spyder was put on auction to benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation. When the final hammer went down, it was bought for $305,000. So impressed with the bids on the one car, the vehicle’s supplier Audi UK put up a twin model. The crowd, so frenzied with a second chance at owning such a unique car, wound up raising the bids to north of $600,000. So, at the end of the day, the two cars raised just under $1 million in auction bids.
