1. First Four-Wheel Drive Rally Car

In the early 80's, competition racing rules (Group B) were changed to allow the use of four-wheel drive in rally cars. Michèle Mouton was the first female driver to win a world championship rally in 1981. Her car? An Audi Quattro, of course! Later, in 1985, Mouton won (and set a new record for) the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb driving a Sport Quattro.

5. Quattro Legacy

The Sport Quattro S1 and S1 E2 were the last Group B cars produced by Audi, and the last race won was at Pikes Peak in 1987. Because the original Audi Quattro rally car was so successful, all subsequently manufactured Audis equipped with four-wheel drive were adorned with the "quattro" badge. This feature has remained the same since.
