Well Audi fans, it's official! The new RS 5 made its exciting debut at the Geneva Motor Show. While built upon the successful Audi A5 model line, it is incredibly important to mention that the new RS5 has been tailored with a razor sharp edge by Audi Sport. Audi Sport is currently under the direction of Lamborghini CEO Stephen Winkelmann. With his direction, the new RS5 excels at not only high performance but extreme efficiency as well.

2. The apple doesn't fall far

The new RS 5 will take on 2018 with a blast. This does not just have to do with its intense 450 horsepower capability. This model is amped up, and stronger in look. This is a muscle coupe. Audi has always drawn inspiration from racing Audi models. Press at the Geneva Motor Show revealed that the influence came from the Audi 90 Quattro IMSA GTO.

3. Updates

Some of the differences from its past iterations are that it's posterior is sleeker, the headlamps are much wider and larger, and the bottom grille has more pronounced openings. And the wheel arches are 15 millimeters wide. There are extra lateral air outlets and intakes located next to the optional LED Matrix headlights.

4. Options

Trim can be done in matte, aluminum, and carbon. The RS5 also boasts an awesome carbon fiber roof. For the rear, an RS definitive diffuser inserts with trademark oval tailpipes for the exhaust system. For the interior, the RS package employs the color red for contrasting colors. This package makes allowance for selector levels and kneepads done up in Alcantara, floor mats with the RS insignia, as well as elements that can be applied to the steering wheel. And there is also an option for a Sonoma metallic green paint finish.

5. The power

As anyone would expect with an RS model the majority of the components have been beefed up and enhanced. Audi claims that the car will hit 0 to 100km/time of 3.9 seconds. It has a beyond dynamic package which reaches a top speed of 280 km/h. All power is provided by the all new 2.9 TFSI Biturbo engine. Its Torque has been heightened to 442 lb-ft. Audi's quattro All Wheel Drive system has a 40:60 torque split, with a rear sport differential for claw-like traction.
