Home of Tuners

Germany boasts of a good number of reputable tuners that have produced countless brash SUVs. If you want your car to look showier, send it over to Brabus, Mansory, AC Schnitzer, ABT, or Novitec. They are responsible for building some of the most expensive, powerful, and bold vehicles available today.

Hit or Miss?

Now in comes another tuner from Germany called Lumma. The team is behind the new touch on the latest Q8 Lumma Design. The Audi Q8 is an already outlandish SUV that makes an impression with its angry front fascia and squared shoulders. Whether this new design fits the already attractive SUV is a question we are still trying to answer ourselves.

Lumma CLR 8S

This customized Q8 is dubbed the Lumma CLR 8S and is a product of a proposed tuning kit for Audi that was put on paperback in March. The tuner managed to make it more intimidating, thanks to numerous exterior touches. It has a boxy design with boxy shapes all over.

Exterior

This Q8 isn't pretty by normal standards, but it's surely eye-catching. Adding to the widebody modifications are flared rockers, two rear spoilers, dynamic front, and rear splitters, a hood attachment, and larger wheel arches. The front bumper comes with a spoiler extension while the one on the rear gets a diffuser with quad square tailpipe trims. The aero kit includes individual parts such as a roof spoiler and a triple-part rear spoiler lip.

Two Wheel Sets

The extended wheel arches can house either 22-inch or 24-inch rims which are both offered by Lumma. The standard Lumma CLR 22-inches comes with ten filigree V spokes. They measure 10*22 inches and 12*22 inches at the front and back respectively. The corresponding tires measure 285/40 R22 at the front and 325/35 R22 at the rear. The higher Lumma CLR 24 RS wheels are sized 10.5*24 inches and 13*24 inches front and back respectively. They are accompanied by 295/30 R24 and 355/25 tires.

Insult to Injury

The original Audi Q8 already comes with fake exhaust tips as standard. Lumma decided to add their own quad exhaust tips to the kit. The addition is awesome, except for the fact it's also fake.

You Can Downgrade

Lumma Design has something for those who may not be willing to take on the CLR 8S in its entirety. The hood attachment can be bought separately as well as either or both of the rear spoilers.

Interior Upgrades

The CLR Q8 comes with a Lumma-designed interior package that buyers can opt for if they wish. The tuner did not mention the pricing for the vehicle nor its separately sold pieces. Looking at how the exterior was built, one may wonder if the interior is as overdone.

Performance Enhancements

Lumma also included performance enhancements to match the dynamic and bold exterior. This was to make sure that there's no gap between the crossover's look and powertrain. This Q8 comes with a turbocharged gasoline V6 that produces 335 horsepower and a turbocharged diesel V6 that produces 228 horsepower.
