Audi of America Reports Best March Sales Ever
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Audi of America, Inc. reported sales of 6,868 for the month of March, up 54.4 percent over the same month last year when sales were 4,448. It was Audi's best March ever.
Increases were seen in every Audi model range. The primary drivers were the A6 with sales totaling 2,945, a 33.2 percent increase over March 1999 and the A4 with 3,205 sales, up 57.3 percent.
The TT continues to sell at a solid pace with 415 for the month. For the first time in its model history, TT sales include Coupe combined with the new 2001 Roadster, which went on sale in some parts of the country at the end of the March. The TT Roadster and 225-horsepower Coupe will be available nationwide in early-April.
Audi's all-aluminum flagship A8 climbed to 302 units sold, a 65 percent increase over March 1999. The long wheelbase version, the A8 L, accounted for about 50 percent of the sales in March, the first full sales month since its launch.
