TT Roadster: Now with 150 bhp engine

Audi will be offering a further engine version of the TT Roadster in future. The new version of the 1.8T four-cylinder turbo engine, currently available as a 132 kW (180 bhp) or 165 kW (225 bhp) unit, develops 110 kW (150 bhp) at 5700 rpm. This power accelerates the TT Roadster from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 214 km/h.

The new 110 kW engine version can be ordered from mid-November. The first deliveries will take place at the end of January 2001. The new model will cost 27,900 (DM 54,568) in Germany.

Audi has thus taken account of the wishes of numerous convertible enthusiasts who particularly enjoy driving an open-top vehicle in a relaxed style: cruising along smoothly rather than changing gear hectically with a lot of fancy footwork. Especially as the firm, sporty suspension satisfies the driver's every wish as far as dynamism is concerned. And not forgetting the engine's flat torque curve (210 Nm from 1750 to 4600 rpm): this provides the basis for ample pulling power and thus the driving style preferred by so many Roadster drivers.

The 110 kW version comes with sports seats as standard with the exclusive TT upholstery cloth. Alcantara and leather upholstery, the leather package Authentic and heated seats can all be ordered as options.

The extensive range of standard equipment includes luxury details such as electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, electric windows and a 3-spoke leather-rim sports steering wheel.

The open-top Audi is fitted with 16-inch cast aluminium wheels of 5-arm design and features the striking high-strength aluminium rollover bars. The comprehensive safety package includes the Electronic Stability Program ESP as well as front and side airbags for both occupants.
