Galati Leads Points, Bell Back for Sears Point

Auburn Hills, Mich., -- Michael Galati is currently leading the points, heading into round five of the SCCA Pro Racing Speedvision World Challenge GT series race to be run at Sears Point. Teammate Derek Bell will return to his number eight Legends of Motorsport Audi S4 Competition.

Galati currently leads the series point standings with 146, which is 11 points ahead of his nearest pursuer. Derek Bell currently sits in 15th place with 38 points, after missing round four in Detroit. Audi currently sits second in the manufacturer standings, a single point out of the lead.

The 2.52-mile Sears Point circuit suits the Audi S4 Competition quattro with its high-speed turns. "We should be more competitive than last year when we finished second. We need to find a good balance and there is no reason we shouldn't be running at the front. The high-speed corners, like the esses at Sears, really suit our car. We will also be tough off the hair pin with our quattro drive," said Galati.

"Michael is currently leading the drivers' standings, and we are only a point out of the top spot in the manufacturer race at the midpoint of the season," said Rod Bymaster, manager, Audi Sport North America. "We are in a good position for the championship at the halfway point in the season."

The Speedvision GT race from Sears Point will be televised on Friday, August 10 at 9:00 p.m. EST on Speedvision.
