Audi's 2001 Rapid Pace Continues With Best July Sales Ever
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The heat of summer didn't keep Audi customers out of dealerships in July as Audi of America's 2001 record - setting pace continued. Audi sales for the month were 7,974, the best July sales month ever, an increase of 21.8 percent over July 2000 when sales were 6,547. Audi year-to-date sales increased to 51,274 versus the 46,919 vehicles sold during the first seven months of last year, up 9.3 percent.
Continued growth was seen from the A6 range with 3,424 sales, up 34.6 percent over the same month last year when sales totaled 2,543. The Audi allroad quattro continued its momentum with 713 for the month.
Audi's hot-selling TT posted another monthly sales gain with July sales of 953, up one percent over last year's sales of 944.
The Audi A4 was slightly off due to limited availability with sales of 2,705 versus 2,904 for July 2000, down 6.9 percent.
Audi's all-aluminum flagship A8 reported total sales of 179, up 14.7 percent over last July when sales were 156.
