What a weekend for the Audi Race Fan!
Audi not only clinched the Manufacturers´ and Teams´ championships of the American Le Mans Series, but did it with a 1-2-3 finish in the final race of the season. Emanuele Pirro and Frank Biela also took home the Drivers´ championship for themselves. Len Hunt, Vice President in charge of Audi of America dropped the flag to start the race. SpeedVision World Challenge GT In a battle that came down to the final race, Audi secured its first-ever Manufacturers' Championship by a single point over Acura in the SpeedVision World Challenge GT, 61 to 60. Michael Galati (No. 9 Champion Audi S4 Competition) became the first driver ever to capture four World Challenge Drivers' Championships, taking the 2001 Speedvision GT title to go with his 1996, 1998 and 1999 Touring Car Championships.
