Conclusion We started this article with the assertion that sometimes context is everything. Before spending four days with the S8 we probably would have guessed that this car is a great large sports sedan. That is, you see, the context within which one expects to place the S8. And while we undoubtedly benefited from experiencing the car in a European context, we can now state with absolute certainty that this is, regardless of context, simply a fine all-around vehicle. Considering its size, the S8 has extraordinary power with a braking system and suspension to match it. The interior is plush without losing its sporting edge and will comfortably seat five adults. The car drives in all conditions as if it has a destiny to arrive safely; it is simply oblivious to exterior conditions. These are the things that the S8 does extremely well, and everything else is "merely" above average.
