Audi of America, Inc. is pleased to sponsor a remarkable showing of American art at Winterthur, An American Country Estate, from October 11, 2003 to February 1, 2004. American Accents, 1670-1945: Masterworks from the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, Featuring the Rockefeller Collection is a comprehensive exhibition featuring works from over three centuries, specifically the colonial period through World War II.

American Accents spans such genres as portraits, still lifes, landscapes, and seascapes, and includes works by John Singleton Copley, Thomas Eakins, John Singer Sargent, Mary Cassatt, Georgia O’Keeffe and Marsden Hartley. Nearly half of the 86 illustrious paintings that will travel to Winterthur from San Francisco’s de Young Museum while the museum undergoes an extensive renovation were donated by Mr. and Mrs. John D. Rockefeller III. Audi is proud to be a supporting sponsor and the official vehicle for this extraordinary collection.

Winterthur’s American Accents is part of America Paints — a regional celebration of American artists and their paintings that runs October 11 – November 23. The Brandywine River Museum will feature Art of the American West and the Delaware Art Museum will showcase American Tableaux: Selections from the Collection of Walker Art Center.
