Audi of America, Inc. Announces Audi TT Real Road Tour Championship
NEW YORK, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ — Audi of America, Inc., today announced a national Audi TT Real Road Tour Championship with the top prize being a one-year lease on a 2004 Audi TT 3.2 Roadster. The tour, which launches in New Jersey on October 2nd, will consist of a relay team of drivers driving across America from state to state, visiting 15 states and 26 U.S. cities on their way. In each tour state, Audi will hold a weekend Championship event at a local dealership, providing consumers with the opportunity to demonstrate their driving skills while behind the wheel of a new TT 3.2 Roadster and on an Audi-designed course. The other Championship course car is a modified Certified pre-owned turbocharged TT Coupe. The Championship participants will be judged on their ability to demonstrate precision, smoothness and concentration through a series of driving tests, games and challenges. At the end of each Championship event, the local participant with the best score will be selected as the regional Audi TT Real Road Tour Champion. Local winners receive valuable Audi merchandise including watches and backpacks, and automatically qualify for the grand prize. The tour will start on the East Coast and progress through the Northeast, Midwest and the West Coast, and finish in Virginia in approximately 12 weeks. At the conclusion of the final dealership event in Virginia, the regional winner with the top overall score in the Championship will receive a one-year lease on the actual 2004 decaled, accessorized Audi TT 3.2 Roadster that is part of the tour and Championship. The Audi TT 3.2 Roadster is powered by a powerful yet compact V6 engine, and coupled with an ingenious automatic DSG(TM) (Direct Shift Gearbox) capable of near-instantaneous shifts. This latest evolution of the TT exemplifies how a near perfect example of form, function and design can be taken to new levels through motor sports competition. Randy Pobst, reigning SPEED World Challenge GT Series champion, is heading up the tour and will make surprise guest appearances at various Championship dealership events.
