Audi A6 Saloon: New
Engine and Transmission Variants
Source:
Audi AG
The Audi A6 range has been extended with the addition of two new
engine and transmission variants: the 177-bhp Audi A6 2.4 is now
available with quattro permanent four-wheel drive and a 6-speed
manual gearbox. And the Audi A6 3.0 TDI quattro can now also be
ordered with a 6-speed gearbox. This means that there are eleven
engine and transmission combinations for the A6 saloon, with
power outputs ranging from 140 to 335 bhp - an unbeatable
choice.
The quattro drive maintains outstanding traction and cornering
stability, thus minimizing the effect of propulsive forces on
the car's self-steering properties. This is a precondition of a
high level of dynamic stability, supreme acceleration and very
high cornering speeds. The performance data of the A6 2.4
quattro reflect this: with an output of 177 bhp (130 kW) and 230
Newton-metres of torque, the six-cylinder saloon accelerates
from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.1 seconds. Its top speed is 230
kilometres per hour, and it has an average fuel consumption of
10.9 litres per 100 kilometres.
The Audi A6 3.0 TDI quattro with 6-speed manual gearbox delivers
gusto with six gears. It takes just 7.1 seconds to sprint from 0
to 100 km/h, and goes on to achieve a top speed of 245 km/h.
This top athlete is also notable for its low fuel consumption
figure of 7.9 litres per 100 km (combined cycle).
The Audi A6 2.4 quattro with manual gearbox costs € 36,200, and
the Audi A6 3.0 TDI quattro with manual gearbox is priced at €
41,600.
