NEW YORK, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ — Audi of America, Inc., today announced The Audi TT Real Road Tour and is looking for 12 drivers to join the Audi TT Real Road Team, headed up by the reigning SPEED World Challenge GT Series champion Randy Pobst. Pobst is defending his title this year behind the wheel of an Audi Certified pre-owned/Champion Audi RS 6.

The tour will consist of a relay team of drivers driving across America from state to state, visiting 15 states and 26 U.S. cities on their way. Pobst, as Team Manager and spokesperson, will launch the tour in Virginia on September 18th.

The drivers, each driving one state-to-state leg, will start on the East Coast and progress through the Northeast, Midwest and the West Coast, and finish in Georgia in approximately 12 weeks.

The tour is designed to showcase the Audi TT Certified pre-owned program and create awareness of the fact that the award-winning TT model line is now available as a Certified pre-owned vehicle. The team drivers will drive a modified, Certified pre-owned turbocharged TT Coupe and a brand new, decaled Audi TT Roadster.

Every Audi Certified pre-owned vehicle must pass the most comprehensive industry test — the 300+ Point Inspection and Certification process that ensures everything on the car is in excellent condition, from the headlights to the engine to every electrical and safety system.

The tour will also support the new Audi TT 3.2 Roadster powered by a powerful yet compact V6 engine, and coupled with an ingenious race-bred automatic DSG(TM) (Direct Shift Gearbox) capable of near-instantaneous shifts. This latest evolution of the TT exemplifies how a near perfect example of form, function and design can be taken to a new level inspired by Le_Mans-winning technologies.

Commenting on the tour, Reinhard Fischer, Audi’s director of sales said, “Many only dreamed of owning an Audi TT when we launched in 2000. Now, some of those cars are available and more affordable than ever, which presents a unique opportunity for driving enthusiasts to enjoy the thrilling and distinctive experience of owning their own TT — and at a great value. Both the new and the Certified pre-owned TT’s are celebrations in Audi design, performance and technology in our most sporty and dynamic manifestations to date.”

Each of the drivers will attend a training day with Pobst at Panoz Driving School at Road Atlanta, one of America’s premiere driving venues and home to the Panoz operation and the Audi Driving Experience. The drivers will receive team merchandise kits and all living costs will be provided on their individual legs of the tour.

A unique website, http://www.audittrealroadtour.com/, will soon go live with all the relevant information about ‘The TT Real Road Tour.’ The event will take place in Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Minnesota, Washington, California, Arizona and Texas.

In the meantime, for those interested in being considered as a ‘Tour’ driver to represent their city/state, please respond by August 13th and please be available for training on August 26th and 27th — or if you would simply like more information, please contact Sergio Morales at 212-508-3433, 917-361-1937 or Sergio.Morales@redconsultancyusa.com.
