Every sport has its dream event. What the Champions League Final is for footballers and the 24 Hours of Le Mans for racing drivers, the Hahnenkamm race in Kitzbühel is the `big one’ for the Alpine skiers. Audi has been partner to the spectacle on the world famous “Streif”, which fascinates thousands of spectators year in year out, since 2001 and which will be staged for the 65th time between 21 and 23 January 2005.

Hahnenkamm, Streif, Ganslern – the downhill’s in Kitzbühel are not short on superlatives: The athletes launch themselves down 85 percent inclines with maximum speeds reaching 140 km/h. Jumps exceeding 80 metres in length are the norm down the men’s 3.312 kilometre downhill course. Precision, perfect technique and the accompanying portion of courage – this is the combination which propels to victory in Kitzbühel.

The partnership with Kitzbühel is only a part of Audi’s involvement in winter sport. Audi already enters its third year as title sponsor of the entire Alpine Ski World Cup, which has carried the name “Audi FIS Ski World Cup” since the start of the 2002/2003 season. In addition, Audi is the presenting sponsor of the 2005 Alpine Ski World Championship in Bormio (Italy) and one of the Nordic Ski World Championship’s most important partners in Oberstdorf 2005.
