  • AUDI AG is the first EuroCarBody award winner to win eminent EuroCarBody Award twice in a row.

“The close connection between expertise and skill in the complex process chain of the car body is particularly acknowledged through this exclusive award,” said Fritz Ebert, President of Automotive Circle International, on the occasion of the “EuroCarBody Award 2004” presentation ceremony in Neckarsulm today.
The Audi A6 was granted an award for innovative series production developments in the field of lightweight body construction.

“We are extremely proud that for the second time in a row a model from the Audi production plant at Neckarsulm is amongst the winners. This confirms our consistent efforts and the level of expertise we have achieved in the field of lightweight body construction,” said Plant Manager Jürgen Lunemann. In 2003 the Audi A8 won the EuroCarBody Award.

The European prize for innovation, which is awarded annually by Automotive Circle International and its international committee, is the highest accolade in European car body construction. Over 400 international car body experts from Europe, USA, Japan and Korea cast their votes to choose the winners.

The experts voted on 18 series-manufactured car bodies – 16 of which were world premieres – in the four areas of innovative design and construction concepts, innovative further development of materials and semi-finished products, innovative production procedures and processes and methods from the press shop through to the painted body, along with the presentation of benefit to the customer.
