  • 21 countries participate in Practical Final in Salzburg
  • Winning team from Scotland
  • Customer satisfaction is the overriding objective

One year ahead of the next Football World Cup, Audi staged these days its very own World Cup for customer service. The Audi Twin Cup is celebrating its 10th anniversary. For the first time, all teams which qualified for the final round were invited to take part in an international final in Salzburg. Teams from all over the world, from countries as far apart as Chile and China, pitted their skills against each other in the Technology and Service categories.

This competition was all about practical knowledge and teamwork: the participants from 21 different countries were called upon to demonstrate their specialist knowledge both directly on a vehicle and in typical customer situations. By the evening of the final day, the winners from the 32 competing teams were known:

The team from Scotland captured first place, with the team from Germany runners-up. The team from China finished third.

Robin Handerson, Audi Glasgow, on the competition: “The combination of theory and practical is perfect. I particularly liked the skid test with the A4. It shows just how useful ESP is – even though we don’t get that many icy roads in Scotland.” The Service Germany team were also extremely happy with their result. Johann Huber, AVP Automobilgruppe Altötting: “The international practical final is a great opportunity to show just what you are capable of at international level, against colleagues from all over the world. We’re extremely proud to be right up there at the top.”

Audi faced a particularly stiff challenge in preparing this competition: the tasks had to be made available in sixteen different languages. 32 interpreters alone were needed. “One standard worldwide – a principle that applies as much to service as it does to product quality. Customer satisfaction is our overriding objective. This year’s award winners have admirably demonstrated their technical expertise and skill in dealing with customers,” remarked Jörg Felske, Head of Sales for After Sales and Original Parts at AUDI AG, during the awards ceremony.

The Audi Twin Cup is a worldwide motivational and training programme that places the focus on Audi Service knowledge. The competition is divided up into the disciplines “Service” and “Technology”; this year, it was held under the motto “knowledge creates opportunities”. Around 2,500 teams from all over the world, comprising some 7,400 service employees, took part in the various rounds leading up to the final.
