  • Vehicle sales in Germany up by 26 percent in July
  • 35 record markets worldwide

Audi announced another record-breaking month for vehicle sales in July 2005. Over 72,800 new cars (July 2004: 59,044) were handed over to customers worldwide. This is equivalent to an increase of 23.4 percent compared with the same month last year.

The number of vehicles sold worldwide in the first seven months rose by 10.2 percent compared with the same period one year previously, to around 494,800 vehicles (January to July 2004: 448,957).

In Germany, sales in July actually increased by more than 26 percent compared with the same month last year. A total of 22,726 vehicles were sold, 6,047 more than in July 2004. This gives a cumulative total for Germany of over 148,800 vehicles – an increase of just under 18,000 units or 13.7 percent compared with January to July 2004.

“The figures for July demonstrate very clearly how attractive our brand is in comparison with the competition,” stated Ralph Weyler, Board Member for Marketing and Sales at AUDI AG. “And this is the case even on the German car market, which is only recovering slowly from its long period of weakness. We will continue to follow this strategic path to growth in the years to come. Growth is taking place on all fronts: we have now achieved new sales records on 35 markets worldwide and will deliver more than 800,000 vehicles to customers worldwide for the first time this year.”
