    Featured Car Questions

When and where did you purchase this car?

Desert Audi Las Vegas. The story behind the car is I ordered it over a year and half ago when I still had a 2004 Dolphin Gray Audi A4 Avant. I went to the dealership to trade cars when the deal went south. After some thought I made a bad choice, which was to get rid of the S4 for a 2005 VW GLI which I thought I could tune to be faster while saving some money.

After having that car for less than a year I made another bad choice and bought a 2005 Acura RL thinking I needed a luxury sedan with all the bells and whistles. I had that car less time than the VW and decided I needed to have my old car back. I told the guys at the dealership that I needed to get this car with the same color and interior I had wanted from the beginning, and that I would not settle for less. One of the guys at the dealership had purchased my original car, but had subsequently bought a Chevy Tahoe and was not driving the S4 anymore. I bought the car from him and that’s how I ended up with this car.

Why did you choose this car as the basis of your project?

I have always loved the Avant (Wagon) look.

Was there anything unique about the car before you starting modifying it?

It had the Blue Alcantra interior I always wanted. And did I mention that it’s a Avant!?!?

Did you consider any other brands, and what led you to Audi?

Yes – I did like BMW and Lexus as well, but neither of them have the look (wagon), power (340hp V8), and the warranty.

What was your objective with this project?

    No answer provided

What companies or individuals were involved in the build-out?

The main company involved was eMotion autowerks in Vegas. They helped with all the mods to this car, including hooking me up with great pricing on most of the parts.

Any specific technical details you can share?

    Don’t have any to give.

What was the most difficult part of the project to get right?

So far working on the brakes to get them to stop just right.

If you had to do it all over again what would you change?

Nothing – everything going as planned.

Have you generated any formal test results with this car (dyno, 1/4 mile, etc?)

    I hope to soon.

Are you finished – what’s next?

No, need one more thing to complete this project: the AWE GIAC VF supercharger.

Is this your daily driver, and if not what else is in your garage?

Yes it is my daily driver.

What is your favorite thing about this car?

    It’s a Avant!!! A very fast Avant!!!

As modified, what makes your car unique?

There are not very many S4 Avants out there in general and even fewer are hooked up like mine.

Where can other enthusiasts see your car?

Audiworld, Audizine, hopefully Eurotuner when supercharged.

Anything else you’d like to share?

Thanks to Mike@ eMotion autowerks for dealing with my crybaby ass!!
