When and where did you purchase this car?

April 2006. I executed a sold-order thru my local dealer, Prestige Imports in Lakewood, CO. It was the first vehicle where I used this service. It’s a cool process to pick every detail of the car – I am so pleased with the car because it’s exactly what I wanted in every respect. I’ve never been happier with Audi.

Why did you choose this car as the basis of your project?

I like the big luxury cars. My professional life is so frenetic. When I get into this car it’s like going on vacation. So quiet and comfortable.

Was there anything unique about the car before you starting modifying it?

Totally stock.

Did you consider any other brands, and what led you to Audi?

Living in Colorado, NO.

What was your objective with this project?

The spacers just completed the optic that I wanted. They make the car appear more aggressive.

What companies or individuals were involved in the built-out?

I bought the spacers from HCS. In terms of the Euro bumper strips, I hate the amber markers and a fellow AudiWorld reader had a few sets of the EU bumper strips for sale. I had Prestige paint and install them.

What was the most difficult part of the project to get right?

Guessing what size spacers to use.

Are you finished – what’s next?

Complete. I’ve since sold the car and purchased a 2007 S8 in Phantom Black and a 2007 RS 4 in Daytona. I love them both.

What is your favorite thing about this car?

Just the all-around luxury.

As modified, what makes your car unique?

Full black front end and the more aggressive appearance provided by the spacers. It’s easily duplicated but I doubt many A8L owners would go to the trouble.

Where can other enthusiasts see your car?

Someone in Denver bought it in April.
