2000 A8 model preview

After three years on the North American market the A8 has been significantly revised for the 2000 model year. The shape and outline of the radiator grill are more sharply accentuated and the grill fins have a more pronounced profile. The all aluminum body has also been revised to improve comfort and safety. Also for 2000 there is a new 5-valve 4.2 liter V8 engine producing 310 hp. The 3.7 A8 Fronttrack model has been discontinued for the 2000 model year.

The A8 offers a number of items like the Sideguard head airbag system as standard equipment and only offers a few separate options: Cold Weather package ($1500), Warm Weather package ($1200), Premium leather/Alacantara trim ($3500), Audi Navigation system ($1100), 17" wheels ($1000), Acoustic parking system ($700) and Xenon lights ($500).
