Happy with a TAP Stage I chip, I upgraded to their Stage II chip when I added an exhaust and intake system. But at 66,000 miles, out of warranty, driving at 45mph on a freeway, my check engine light came on.  Subsequent examination showed a disintegrated plug, due undoubtedly to detonation. The pieces of the plug scarred the cylinder walls and pitted the piston top of more than just the #3 cylinder, having migrated through the valves to other cylinders. Result: new engine. $$$$$

Beware TAP programming. No recommendation here.
