Race springs/Neuspeed Bilstein Sport Shocks By: Chris Checksfield Email: CChecksfield@yahoo.com (Jan-03) Make & model of car the product was used on: 1999.5 A4 1.8t When they came in the mail Friday night I was so excited to get them on Saturday morning that I actually waxed my car in excitement. Overall the ride of the car is different than stock but not as stiff and uncomfortable as expected. As for the performance, its incredible. I now take turns I never expected to be able to take in my car. With the stock wheels it handles better than a friends Maxima with suspension and wheels. I see about 2 fingers of wheel well gap in the front and a little less in the rear. Overall I have to say that this is by far my best investment I have made. With new rims and tires the car should be unbelievable in the narrows. 2 thumbs up!!
Make & model of car the product was used on: 1997 A4 1.8QTM My first suspension setup was these Neuspeed sport shocks
with HR sport springs, and while the handling was good it
wasn't aggressive enough nor low enough. When the opportunity
came to trade my HR's for the Neuspeed races I took it up not
knowing exactly what to expect. I was scared it might be too
rough and too low without enough gain in handling to justify.
The opposite the turned out to be true. My first drop left a 2
finger gap and now with the races it went down to 1.5 which
was the perfect height for me. The ride even though it was
stiffer actually felt like the race springs matched the shocks
a lot better. The biggest improvement was the handling. I
couldn't believe the difference. The difference of going from
the sport to race springs was more drastic then all my
previous suspension upgrade (shocks+springs+swaybars). My car
finally had that tight feeling I had found in my friend's E46
M3 that I longed for from the start. For anyone serious about
handling I would highly recommend opting for race springs over
sport springs the difference is very big. |
