Symphony Stereo - Standard & Hidden Features Jonathan 2001

Besides the main controls and features that are accessible on the Symphony head unit, there are a few more that can be accessed by pressing a combination of keys. Some of these features are discussed in the owners Manuel, while others have not been mentioned.

Mentioned Features

I'll start by mentioning the features that are discussed in the Symphony manual; surprisingly many people have no clue that they exist.

To access the following features:

  • Turn off the radio
  • Press and Hold P.SCAN
  • While holding P.SCAN turn on the radio.
  • Use P.SCAN to flip through the Menus.

    Speed Sensitive Volume Control (SVC)

    The first thing you'll see when you power up while holding P.SCAN is "SVC _ "

    This is the "Speed Sensitive Volume Control" (SVC)

    Use the SEEK knob to adjust the setting. 0-5

    0 - inactive
    5 - most active

    Turn on Volume

    Hit P.SCAN once to change to the next menu.

    This adjusts the volume when the stereo is turned on

    Use the Seek Knob to adjust the setting 1-5

    Station Sensitivity

    Hit P.SCAN once to change to the next menu.

    Changing the Station Scan Sensitivity

    Use the SEEK knob to adjust the setting.

  • "SENS DX" for Distance reception when scanning
  • SENS LO" for Local reception when Scanning

    When you select "SENS LO", it will stop only at the stations that have a stronger signal.

  • Radio Monitoring

    Hit P.SCAN once to change to the next menu.

    Listening to the radio while fast forwarding or rewinding a tape (radio monitoring).

    Use the Seek knob to adjust.

    ON or OFF

    Navigation volume

    Hit P.SCAN once to change to the next menu.

    Use the SEEK knob to adjust the setting: 0-5

    It only works if you have a Navigation System. (I don't, but the menu is still there).

    Telephone (left or right)

    Hit P.SCAN once to change to the next menu.

    Use the SEEK knob to adjust the setting: L-R

    It only works if you don't have the Bose system.

    Hands Free speaker phone output - Left Or Right
