A New Audi R8 Plus Has Been Crashed into a River in the Netherlands.

An Audi enthusiast lost control of his second generation Audi R8 Plus this past Sunday, sending the car into a careening into a river. The German Audi owner was traveling outside of Loenersloot, in the Netherlands when he lost control of the vehicle. Despite the vehicle being fully submerged, the owner was able to escape and swim to safety at the shore. Reports have come in stating that the man appeared to be alright, albeit nearly frozen from the cold water temperatures. He was taken to hospital just in case.

Video has surfaced of the R8 being recovered from the depths of the river. Netherlands news outlet 0297 was on the scene reporting live as the vehicle was being extricated. Although the car appears cosmetically sound, the likelihood is that the car will be written due to water damage. With the window down and the car being fully submerged, there are very little odds of the vehicle’s various electric systems operating properly after the fact.

Viewer discretion is advised. Seeing a brand new R8 appear alright, but know that it is ruined is a bit painful:
