Audi Expands Golfing Commitment

For nearly two decades, Audi has been successfully engaged in national and international golf. Now this commitment has reached a new level: Together with Bayerische Hypo- und Vereinsbank AG, Audi is developing and positioning a high-calibre professional golf tournament for ladies for the first time. As early as in May 2008 the event – planned to bear the title “HypoVereinsbank Ladies German Open presented by Audi” – will celebrate its debut.

In addition to top-class player Martina Eberl, the organisers aim to secure the participation of all German players of the Ladies European Tour (LET) in the tournament. Audi will have the status of the official Presenting Sponsor as well as providing the official fleet service for the “Ladies German Open”. The four rings will be incorporated in the tournament logo as well as in all marketing activities.

The new tournament, to be staged for the first time on 29 May 2008 and initially fixed until 2010, complements the extensive golfing commitment maintained by AUDI AG. The portfolio of the brand from Ingolstadt already includes two successful tournament series for amateurs as well as the support of renowned tournaments like the “Deutsche Bank Players Championship of Europe” or the “Omega European Masters”.
