The Audi Q7 is a large and versatile SUV for individualists. Its powerful and efficient engines and the standard eight-speed tiptronic offer luxurious driving comfort.

Body and interior
The design of the Audi Q7 stands for power, elegance and presence. The engine hood, the front fenders and the wrap-around tailgate are aluminum. Bolt-on parts come standard in a contrasting color. Customers can also order them in the body color with chrome trim.

Two new styling packages make the Q7 even more attractive. The body color offroad styling package includes specific bolt-on parts finished in the same shade as the body. A variety of stainless steel covers emphasize the robustness of the large SUV. Completing the package are new, titanium-colored 21-inch wheels from Audi exclusive. The sport styling package for the 3.0 TFSI and the 4.2 TDI includes such things as modified bumpers, glossy chrome exterior parts and specially designed black wheels.

Thanks to its 3.00-meter (9.84 ft) wheelbase, the Q7 offers plenty of interior room. There are 27 possible seating combinations. Audi offers the large SUV as either a five, six or seven-seater. The seatbacks in the second row can be folded down, increasing the cargo capacity from a volume of 775 liters (27.37 cubic ft) to 2,035 liters (71.87 cubic ft). Three different types of seats are available for the driver and the front-seat passenger, topped by climate-controlled comfort seats that can be heated and ventilated.

Powertrain
The engine lineup for the Audi Q7 includes five six-cylinder engines and one eight-cylinder unit. The two three-liter gasoline engines – supercharged V6 units with different power ratings – and the three V6 TDI units are characterized by high efficiency. The V8 diesel offers an impressive 800 Nm (590.05 lb-ft) of torque.

Engine lineup:

  • 3.0 TFSI quattro with 200 kW (272 hp)
  • 3.0 TFSI quattro with 245 kW (333 hp)
  • 3.0 TDI quattro with 150 kW (204 hp)
  • 3.0 TDI quattro with 180 kW (245 hp)
  • 3.0 TDI clean diesel quattro with 180 kW (245 hp)
  • 4.2 TDI quattro with 250 kW (340 hp)

All of the engines deliver their power to the quattro permanent all-wheel drive via an eight-speed tiptronic. With its wide spread and long-ratio upper gears, this also makes an important contribution to efficiency.

Chassis
Aluminum double wishbones mounted on subframes guide the wheels of the Q7. The optional adaptive air suspension (standard in the Q7 4.2 TDI) with electronic damper control varies the ground clearance depending on the situation. The driver can choose from five characteristics using the MMI operating system.

Large brake discs provide the stopping power. Brawny disks made of lightweight carbon fiber ceramic are available for models equipped with the two most powerful engines. The ESC stabilization control includes an offroad mode. Wheels range from 18 to 21 inches in diameter.

Equipment
A power tailgate (standard with the top engines) and a rail-based load securing set for baggage are available for sports, recreation and vacation travel. Audi offers the assistance systems adaptive cruise control, Audi lane assist and Audi side assist. At the top of the infotainment lineup is MMI navigation plus, which can be combined with the Bluetooth car phone online. Its WLAN hotspot lets passengers surf and e-mail with their mobile devices, and the online services from Audi connect are available to the driver. Other highlights are the 1,000 watt Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System and the large panorama roof.
