First Audi drops us some “spy photo” type shots of the new R8 in full camo, now they’re showing us the car in all of its glory. And how glorious!

The exterior is stunning, as an R8 should be. We now see the exact detail of what remains of the original R8’s sideblades, and we frankly like what they did with it. Keeping some of the old with the new is great to us. The deeply scalloped doors, with nearly invisible handles are a nice touch as well.

The new front and rear facias are deep and aggressive looking. The overall shape is very familiar, but updated none the less.

Inside, the updated R8 borrows heavily from the new TT, with apparently ALL of the infotainment system information being displayed in the instrument cluster. Also interesting is the “floating” dash, with knee boards on either side of the driver’s compartment.

As aggressive as the exterior looks, the interior appears to be an exercise in minimalist design, high in function. We’re not sure about the shifter, which appears to have been lifted from the new Q7, but the rest of it looks elegantly laid out.

We expect to have more to talk about this wicked machine soon.
