Audi TT Coupé and TT Roadster

Body and interior
The body of the TT Coupé is an Audi Space Frame (ASF) design utilizing hybrid construction. Lightweight aluminum is used at the front of the car back to the B-pillar, with steel panels used at the rear. The mix makes it possible to finely balance the axle loads and keep the overall weight low.
The body-in-white weighs just 206 kilograms (454.15 lb); the TT Coupé 1.8 TFSI weighs just 1,260 kilograms (2,777.82 lb) overall.
The interior boasts dynamic elegance and superior workmanship. The 2+2-seat coupe is a sports car with a high degree of everyday practicality. The split backs of the rear seats fold down, expanding the trunk space beneath the long hatch from 292 to 700 liters (10.31 – 24.72 cu ft).
Powertrain
Audi offers the TT Coupé with a choice of three four-cylinder engines. The two TFSI units and the one TDI unit combine sporty power with high efficiency. The Audi TT 2.0 TDI consumes on average just 5.3 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (44.38 US mpg). Its 125 kW (170 hp) of power and a brawny 350 Nm (258.15 lb-ft) of torque provide for powerful acceleration.

A six-speed manual or a six or seven-speed S tronic transfers power to the wheels, regardless of the engine. quattro permanent all-wheel drive is available as an option for the 2.0 TFSI; it comes standard with the TDI. The heart of the system is an electronically controlled hydraulic multi-plate clutch.
Chassis
The front suspension of the Audi TT features McPherson struts, with aluminum components used to keep the weight of the unsprung masses low. Thanks to its electromechanical drive, the power steering is highly efficient. Four links guide each of the rear wheels. Audi also offers the optional Audi magnetic ride adaptive damper system, which the driver can switch between two settings. With the optional sport button, the characteristics of the gas pedal, the servo boost for the steering and the engine sound can also be influenced.
Audi TT Roadster
The cloth top of the TT Roadster also follows Audi’s philosophy of lightweight construction. It weighs little, contributes to the car’s low center of gravity, fits harmoniously into the design line and takes up hardly any space when open. A manual top is standard. The automatic top includes an additional acoustic mat and an electrohydraulic drive. It opens in 12 seconds, even while driving at a speed of up to 50 km/h (31.07 mph).
Two massive rollover bars protect driver and passenger in the event of a rollover. Compared with the Coupé, key areas of the largely aluminum body have been reinforced. Despite this, it weighs in at just 251 kilograms (553.36 lb). The luggage compartment holds 250 liters (8.83 cu ft) with the top up or down. The engines and transmissions offered for the Audi TT Roadster are identical to those offered for the TT Coupé.
