1000 HP MTM Audi RS6

The Audi RS6 might never be a true sleeper, but MTM’s 1000 horsepower monster packs the power to surprise supercars.

For over three decades, legendary tuning company MTM has been taking Audi performance to the next level. Now, founder Roland Mayer and his band of mechanical wizards have turned their attention to the new RS6, and the results are predictably awesome. With MTM’s Stage 4 performance modifications installed, this standard-looking Avant is now packing 1,000 horsepower and a whopping 921 lb-ft of torque.

As fans of the Audi’s lovely longroof know, that’s almost double the amount of horsepower stock models have on tap, and the increase in performance is notably insane. While it’s not clear how fast this baby is flat out, the zero-to-60 time is a blistering 2.8 seconds. And for those keeping score at home? That means it’ll smoke uber-exotics like the McLaren Senna off the line. So yeah, it’s quick. This isn’t even the first 1000-horsepower RS6 we’ve seen yet, so it’s clear the tuning potential of these machines is off-the-hook.

Personally, I happen to like that the exterior has essentially been kept stock. Sure, the ABT treatment is cool and all, but even though an RS6 is never going to be a true sleeper, it’s cool that all the upgrades are undercover — until you’re ready for them to be obvious.

As you might expect, all that power comes with great responsibility. Except by responsibility, I mean cost. Because a full Stage four conversion will run you $43,599, on top of the price of the RS6. So all told, you’re looking at least $160,000, which actually isn’t too bad considering the crazy level of performance. After all, a Porsche Panamera Turbo starts at $153,000, and given the way Stuttgart prices its hardware, adding floormats and undercoating will quickly eclipse the price of MTM’s tuned RS6.

Watch the video below to check out this Nogaro Blue beast in action, and make sure to add some comments on YouTube. Because seriously, are there truly any enthusiasts out there who want to hear crappy music instead of the sound of the engine? This trend of stupid soundtracks has really got to end. That said, enjoy the video, and if you’re lucky enough to have scored a new RS6 Avant, make sure to post some shots on the forum!
