AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — As part of a company transformation, Audi of America, Inc. announced today a newly organized public relations department designed to continue to push the brand distinctly upmarket.

Johan de Nysschen, executive vice president in charge of Audi, recently appointed Jennifer Garber Cortez as director of corporate communications for Audi. Cortez joined Audi in 1999 as public relations manager.

“Jennifer’s insight and experience will make Audi PR even more effective and help provide direction to our growing communications department,” said de Nysschen.

Two regional offices have been created. The East Coast office, to be based at the Audi Forum on Park Avenue in New York City, will focus on regional activities and will lead business communications efforts. On the West Coast, the Audi PR office will be based in the Los Angeles area where the communications team will focus on lifestyle communications outreach.

Additionally, the West Coast office will offer an Audi VIP/celebrity chauffeuring service and will handle regional communications for the brand. The PR staff at Audi’s headquarters in Auburn Hills is expanding as the department reorganizes and prepares to meet future challenges.

Before joining Audi in 1999, Cortez worked for American Honda Motor Co. as East Coast Public Relations Manager and Fleishman-Hillard, an international communications agency.

Audi of America is headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan, and markets performance-oriented German luxury vehicles: the A3, A4, A6, A8, and TT. For more information about additional Audi products, corporate news and images, visit Audi’s press website www.media.audiusa.com.
